Gently Down the Stream

Sailing down the mighty Brahmaputra aboard the Charaidew was an unforgettable journey through Assam’s rich landscapes and traditions. As we cruised past remote villages, I watched fishermen display their fresh catch and children wave excitedly from the riverbanks. Visiting Manas Wildlife Sanctuary, I glimpsed golden langurs and wild buffaloes, while a thrilling night safari revealed boars and civets prowling in the dark. At Sualkuchi, I marveled at the intricate weaving of Muga silk, a craft passed down for generations. Ending my journey at Guwahati’s sacred Kamakhya Temple, I felt the spiritual essence of Assam as the sun dipped behind the vast river, casting a golden glow over the land.
