Once the private hunting grounds of royal rulers, India’s forests are now being rediscovered by adventure tourists. While the age-old conflict between man and beast continues to shape conservation, awareness is slowly growing in rural communities near sanctuaries.
As a wildlife enthusiast, amateur ornithologist, and keen photographer, I set out to explore some of the region’s hotspots and witness the incredible life thriving in our forest reserves.
